Frank practices community-centered storytelling, using the power of language to spotlight the strengths and resilience of communities, turning the focus on their potential and power as they confront deep-rooted systemic barriers.

Since 2010, Frank has collaborated with communities of color while in various leadership roles with post-secondary institutions, nonprofit organizations, business chambers, and his own company, 4 Da Hood.

Since 2019, Frank has presented on topics such as Asset-Based Language, Community-Centered Fundraising, and Story Arc Grant Writing at several nonprofit conferences, including the Nonprofit Storytelling Conference, AFP Lead, and AFP Arizona Statewide.

Storyteller Extraordinaire and Social Justice Warrior, Frank Velásquez Jr. crafts organizational stories and helps leaders authentically tell their own. He creatively connects our stories, preserving the unique flavor of each one like a delicious bowl of gumbo. Since 2010, Frank has helped various sectors – private, public, NGOs, and post-secondary institutions – and communities of color develop narratives that are authentic, accurate, and impactful.
