Free Nonprofit Webinar: Coronavirus and Nonprofit Grants: Tactics and Strategies to Help You Adapt (Recording)
Recorded

Grant professionals are used to having to adapt to change even when there are plans in place. The current environment nonprofits find themselves in as a result of the coronavirus is another situation where we as grant professionals (and the grant teams we facilitate) need to adapt to change.

Yes, the impact of the stock market fluctuation may influence the size of grant budgets from private grantmakers in the future. Yet on the other hand, as seen in previous financial downturns or crises, it is likely that some foundation grantmakers will offer recovery grants and that government grantmakers will offer a variety of significant stimulus grants.

Grantmakers are already exhibiting some expected behaviors in response to large crises that nonprofits need to know about.

I have been working in the nonprofit field for more than 18 years, building nonprofit capacity as it relates to grant seeking. I have worked on staff at a grantmaking foundation, worked as the staff person managing grant seeking for a multi-million dollar statewide nonprofit, and led grant teams for clients in a wide range of sectors and communities.  My team and I worked with clients in 2008 and 2009 not only to make it through the shifts in grantmaking that followed but to thrive in the following year with an increase in grant revenue.

In this webinar I will share with you strategies and tactics that will help you adapt your grant seeking strategy so you can thrive in the upcoming competitive grant seeking environment.

Diane is specifically qualified to teach this webinar because:

  1. She is a Grant Professional Certified;
  2. She is an Approved Trainer of the Grant Professionals Association;
  3. She has secured more than $63.4 million in competitive grants; and
  4. She has been in the grant and nonprofit world for over 20 years.

Having worked as a grant professional for the past 18 years, Diane has had the opportunity to see how significant national and international events impact the state of grantseeking for nonprofits. While we are in unchartered territory, the successful experience Diane has from previous significant grantmaking shifts as in 2009 will help to guide you as your organization navigates the impact of the coronavirus on nonprofit grants.

What Attendees Said about This Nonprofit Webinar:

“I'm in the process of starting a new non profit, so I'm a rookie when it comes to Grants.  Diane's presentation really opened my eyes to several steps in the process that I wasn't aware of.  She did a wonderful job.”

Elouiuse Nathaniel, Choices Pregnancy Centers of Greater Phoenix

“Great tips and reassuring advice! It's great to hear the challenges my organization and I am facing are not unique, that grant writers at all sizes of organizations are facing the same challenges. I took away some wonderful tips on how to navigate the new normal.”

Heather Nelson, The National Multiple Sclerosis Society

“Diane Leonard is highly knowledgeable and provided great tips about how to navigate the pandemic response as grant writers. She touched on things that I was, in fact, doing that very day like reaching out to funders. It was great to see that I was already doing some of the things she mentioned. Diane also gave me some great ideas about newsletters and her grant blog to subscribe to and Google alerts to set up. It was well worth the time to attend. Gotta go - I've got some grant blog reading to do!”

Sherrema Bower, FLINT & GENESEE CHAMBER OF COMMERCE

“I am a graduate student working on my master's in social work, and one of my assignments at my field placement is to learn about grant writing, researching grants, and to help the agency find grants that may be able to utilize to help more of the community. CharityHowTo webinars can help me gain skills in learning about grants and working in a team environment with other grant makers.”
