About Your Topic Experts:

Part 1: Presented by Mitch Stein and Chelsea Paul

Mitch is the Head of Strategy at Chariot, the donor-advised fund payments company. He leads the company's major sector-wide initiatives, like The DAF Fundraising Report, DAF Day, and has been a featured speaker at dozens of conferences and workshops. Prior to joining Chariot, he founded a nonprofit technology company called Pond, which was a marketplace to connect nonprofits with the best vendors for their needs. Before that, he was an investment banker at Goldman Sachs for 7 years, most recently serving as a Vice President in the Technology Banking team.

He is an avid nonprofit fundraiser, serving on the board of The NYC LGBT Center and a longtime rider on Cycle for the Cause, The Northeast AIDS Ride. 

Chelsea Paul is VP of Marketing at Daffy, the modern donor-advised fund built to help people be more generous, more often. As a founding team member since 2021, she has helped grow Daffy from a bold idea into one of Fast Company's Most Innovative Companies, and most recently, into a platform that has crossed $1 billion in charitable assets under management. Chelsea leads brand strategy, growth and digital marketing, communications, and consumer insights.

Before Daffy, she led marketing for LeanIn.org and OptionB.org at the Sheryl Sandberg & Goldberg Bernthal Family Foundation, and prior to that advised technology companies including Autodesk, OpenTable, Foursquare, and Twitter on consumer marketing and communications. Outside of work, Chelsea is a committed advocate for women and her local community, supporting Chamber of Mothers, San Francisco Women’s Center, and St Anthony’s.

Kia Croom is a global fundraiser, philanthropy advisor, and speaker who has helped nonprofit organizations secure more than $1 billion USD over her 26-year career. She advises nonprofit organizations on fundraising strategy, resource mobilization, and fundraising capacity, with deep expertise in securing six-, seven-, and eight-figure philanthropic investments from individuals, corporations, foundations, and public-sector partners.
