Conflict in the workplace is unavoidable, but it doesn’t need to be destructive. Productive conflict, when facilitated well, has the power to connect, transform, and build deeper relationships.
A 2024 study by the Workplace Peace Institute found that 88% of respondents witnessed poor morale among employees affected by conflict. And 18% witnessed project failures as a direct result of the employees leaving due to workplace conflict. The good news is that over 50% of the respondents reported that well-managed conflict led to improved working relationships, better understanding of others, and more creative solutions to problems.
