Workshop Date & Time:

October 14th, 2025: 1:00 pm - 3:00 pm, ET

In today’s increasingly volatile funding climate, small and medium-sized nonprofits still pursue large grants—six figures or more—but they face even steeper odds of success. Despite their passion and dedication, many applications are denied, not necessarily due to the quality of the work they do, but because they lack the strategic preparation required to compete in a rapidly changing grant landscape.

With federal priorities shifting, DEI funding under scrutiny, and many agencies freezing or cutting awards altogether, the bar for competitiveness is higher than ever. Too often, organizations—eager to secure support—rush into writing without investing the time to align with funder expectations, analyze the current funding landscape, or build the infrastructure needed for a compelling, policy-aware proposal.

In this workshop, we will teach you how to facilitate a process that can be used to support any grant application process but is FANTASTIC for large grants (whether foundation or government) or six figures (or more!) so that your actual writing work in grant applications is as competitive as possible.

This Workshop is Perfect for you if:

  • You have been a grant writer/grant professional for 1 year or more;
  • You are looking to improve your grant writing skills to further your career;
  • You have participated in at least one grant writing course, webinar, or training;
  • Your organization is able to demonstrate success with smaller grants

During This Nonprofit Workshop, You Will Create:

  • A grant calendar for the large opportunities to preplan for
  • SMART objectives
  • Preliminary project budget
  • Work Plan of key activities

During This Nonprofit Workshop, You Will Learn:

  • How to create a  grant calendar that includes the pre-planning work necessary for the large funding applications to be success
  • How to develop SMART objectives that will support your program design
  • How to develop a Preliminary Project Budget that will align with the anticipated amount of funding
  • How to develop Work Plan of key activities that align with the project budget

During This Nonprofit Workshop, You Will Be Responsible For:

  • Actively participating in workshop sessions and exercises;
  • Ask for feedback from your colleagues between workshop sessions;
  • Ask feedback of your workshop presenters between workshop sessions; and
  • You must attend all sessions of this workshop to achieve the intended outcome.
