Tired of pouring tons of staff salary into big fundraising events? What if you could raise more funds without the staff time and effort? What if you could get your supporters to do the fundraising for you?

In this webinar, you will learn how to empower your supporters to raise that money for you with much less effort on your part while increasing brand recognition and marketing of your mission.

Some may think of the Ice Bucket Challenge. But there is so much more and the possibilities are endless. What if supporters created their own “Iron Chef” competition? Or a beer pong tournament at a local craft brewery? Or a Thriller Dance Flash Mob?

DIY Fundraisers include: Home parties; memorial services; walks/runs; talent shows; croquet, and twister tournaments; dance-a-thons; penny drives; poetry competitions; spelling bees; social media challenges; online birthday requests; craft sales; flower arrangements; block parties; yard sales; political rallies; and more.

There is a DIY Fundraiser for every organization. But you don’t have to do them. You only get the ball rolling and support it when the money comes in!

About the expert:

Zoot Velasco, MBA, CFRE started employing DIY fundraisers in 2007 as CEO of a regional cultural center before DIY had a name. WIth the tools he will teach you here, he doubled the endowment of his cultural center to just under a million dollars and added $50,000 annually to his unrestricted budget. The DIY events replaced the annual gala, decreased staff involvement in fundraising, and engaged new people as volunteers leading to great new board members. During the recession, his organization grew from a $400,000 annual budget 20% in debt to a $1.6M budget well in the black. DIY was one of the tools used for this growth.
